For some time now, I have been making and exhibiting my own prints made with pigment inks on archival quality papers.
I currently print with a Canon ipf5100 printer which produces absolutely exemplary prints. I use Hahnemuhle Bamboo paper for matte prints – for those images where surface reflections would just get in the way. This is lovely paper with a nice weight (290 gsm) and a slightly warm-white base. The surface is smooth with just the faintest of textures. It is truly an elegant paper.
For prints that need a bit more contrast and that bit of punch that only a gloss surface can give, I use Hahnemuhle Photo Rag Baryta paper. This paper offers a flat, low-gloss surface with a faint stipple that gives the print a lovely sense of depth and clairty. It is also a weighty paper (315 gsm) and has an excellent texture when handling loose prints in a portfolio.
My current prices are:
8"x10", 8"x12", or 8"x8" – $40
12"x15", 12"x18", or 12"x12" - $70
16"x20", 16"x24", or 16"x16" - $100
Sizes refer to the print area. The paper size will be larger. Smaller prints are shipped flat, but, large sizes with be sent in mailing tubes to reduce shipping costs. Prices are in US dollars and do not include the shipping fees.
Matting and framing are done by request only. Larger sizes may be available by request. They will printed by a third party (e.g. Elevator Digital – www.elevatordigital.ca). For any such special requests, please feel free to ask for a quote.
